Last night I shot the Dropkick Murphys at the Leadmill in Sheffield. Despite a train-based debacle on the way back (East Midlands Trains suck), it was a great gig. The Mad Caddies were supporting, and their set was just fun! As always the Dropkick Murphys played a storming set. They’re such an energetic band that you know they’re pretty much guaranteed to be great to watch, and to shoot too. They were the first band I ever photographed (back in 2004) and I managed to continue my record of never actually seeing them without my camera. Although I had a photo pass, security wouldn’t let me in front of the barriers, so I shot from the pit; I’ve not done that for a while, and it was really enjoyable!

he looks angry
and it’s a shame that such a young man needs to wear a hearing aid, it’s probably the excessive rock and roll lifestyle.
