An Odyssean voyage down the Grand Union Canal marked G’s stag do last weekend, and much hilarity ensued. We started at Stockton Top Marina near Long Itchington, and headed west to Leamington Spa and Warwick in search of adventure pubs. We went through 22 locks on the way out, and thus toiled our way through 22 on the way back, smashing the uphill record for the Itchington Ten in the process.
Highlights included pun of the trip from Alex (“I addered them up!“), airborne sausage rolls, construction of a DRD, and wildly contrasting skippers on Boat Two (one very experienced, one who liked the “faster” lever). Top trip. In other news, it turns out there are some very scenic bits of England around Leamington Spa.
