Rambling Running Reunion

Written by Haydn Williams

Snowdonia was nominated as the location for the most recent gathering of ex-MPS members, and a cracking time was had by all. Saturday’s chosen activity was a group walk along the Nantlle Ridge: atmospheric, precipitous, and rising proudly from the western edge of the national park, the ridge was shrouded entirely in cloud for the duration of the trip. We had a good day nonetheless, and I made a little video…

I’d be lying if I said that Saturday night was a rock ‘n’ roll affair – after bolognaise and ginger cake (consecutively, not together) everyone was in bed by 10:30PM in anticipation of a big day on Sunday. We fragmented a bit on day two, with some climbing, some visiting electric mountain, and Greg and I heading south-east along the ridge from Moel Eilio to Snowdon and down the Llanberis path.

We haven’t run together for a long time, so it was great to get the dream team back together. Despite both supposedly carrying injuries, we accidentally did 10 miles and 1400m of ascent in a very respectable time, which was a great result. Roll on the next reunion!
